Position: Material Handler Reports toLogistics and Material Handling Manager Works withPlanning Manager, Manufacturing Managers, Shippers, Lead Hands, Material Handlers, Final Assembly, Supply Chain, Shippers and Receivers Immediate Subordinates N/A Job Summary The Material Handler supports the continuity of production by the distribution of raw materials, sub-assemblies, consumables or other items as required daily/weekly to various production areas. The material release or replenishment will be triggered by work orders, customer orders, production signals, and/or otherwise. The Material Handler is responsible for inventory management and accuracy. Cycle Counting will be a key part of this role to ensure inventory is counted and verified as determined by the Cycle Count Calendar. All counts will be recorded and variances will be reviewed and approved by management as required. This position reports directly to the Logistics and Material Handling Manager and will work closely with Planning Purchasing, Production Managers, Lead Hands, and Shippers. Duties and Responsibilities * Pick, stage and deliver materials based on upcoming work orders to production areas as required. * Manage inventory through cycle counting of all materials. * Mark reels, cartons or other containers with identifying information if and when required. * Utilize personal protective equipment as necessary to ensure a safe working environment and safe handling and movement of materials to protect from damage. * Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock and recording location of inventory. * Maintain in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies. * Update internal systems with the movement of materials by transferring items to various inventory sites as needed. * Receive return materials from production by verifying material, part number, quantity and lot number prior to placing materials in stock. * Follow written or oral instructions/priorities regarding daily tasks and job duties. * Ensure all electronic and physical movement of product is accounted for in an appropriate manner and data is available in real-time. * All other duties as assigned.Required or Strongly Preferred Skills and Abilities * Exceptional attention to detail supported by timely transactions. * Excellent organizational, problem solving and analytical skills. * Excellent time management skills and technical skills. * Advocate of continuous improvement and striving to improve efficiency and productivity. * Must be a self-starter and be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with many competing priorities and deadlines. Team player. * Good communications skills, oral and written. * Able to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.Minimum Qualifications and Experience * 1 to 3 years Shipping/Receiving or general warehouse experience. * Proficiency with standard Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, Project). * Experience with MRP or ERP related software.
